Gordon State College Performs Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth

Medieval Matinee Pairs with Community Brunch Nov. 10

 Bloody onstage sword fights, ghostly specters in a medieval setting and a “Game of Thrones” take on The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Gordon State College Fine and Performing Arts presents the psychological thriller The Tragedy of Macbeth on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov.10 at 2:00 p.m. 

macbeth The play commonly known by “blood will have blood” centers around a brutal warrior and his ambitious wife grasping for a ripe opportunity to murder King Duncan and become the new king and queen of Scotland.  The evil supernatural presence of three witches influences this feckless mission, all the way to its violent end. 

"Macbeth操你啦|caonila视频|操你啦在线影院 plummets forward at an erratic pace, with electric action and crazed interpersonal relationships,” said Assistant Professor of Theatre and director of the play, Lisa Cesnik Ferguson.

Prior to the matinee performance on Sunday, November 10, GSC’s Fine and Performing Arts Department will offer a special ticket combination with Campus Dining for Community Brunch in the Highlander Dining Hall inside the Student Center. Brunch will begin at 10:30 AM and end at 2 PM. The price for the combination ticket to attend the brunch and the matinee will cost $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. To attend the Community Brunch without the theatre performance is $12 for adults and $7 for children 12-years or younger. Gordon students may use a meal swipe or Gordon Bucks for Community Brunch. 操你啦|caonila视频|操你啦在线影院Admission to Macbeth is free for faculty, staff and students with proper Gordon State College ID cards. Pricing for general admission is $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $5 for children 18-years old or younger.

The department will be performing “Our Town” by Thorton Wilder from March 11-12, 2020. The mission of Gordon State College's programs in Fine & Performing Arts is to celebrate the diverse expression of human emotion, thought, imagination, creativity and discovery by improving each student’s foundation in performance in the visual arts, music and theatre.
